Nick 'Chronicle' Marcel Marceau William Bungus, the bridesmaids in many a battle of the bands competition…..with a stage show coming across like a trip to Disneyland while eating a ketamine coated waffle. Their music is an eclectic mish-mash of demented playground songs tinged with filthy distorted guitars, draped with musical theatre and seasoned with enough electronic bleeps to sink a nuclear submarine. You can keep up with their (bowel) movements on their poorly maintained facebook page! Their debut album, 'Welcome To Bungusland', is available now through I-Tunes, Amazon, Spotify and many other sites or you can order copies from us direct. Bread Roll Guitars/backing vox Eskymo Jesus (formerly Eskimo Jesus) evolved from the ashes of proto-grunge four piece Alison and became quite a unique beast. With a diverse range of influences and a grating lo-fi sound they forged a reputation for being an exciting and edgey live act. Early shows saw them impressing bookers in several large London venues allowing them to spread their anarchic stage show and get banned from several clubs for such things as indecent exposure, brawling and onstage vomiting. FTD
Dreggz DJ Daniel Ray Reflecting DJ Shite Exeters Trash-rap all stars blazed a trail of hard beats, distorted samples and hectic rhymes through out the area. Originally conceived in Watford with a line up of F.T.D, N 3-L and Tooth Pac, the trio didn't get far past the Bong. It wasn't until F.T.D rolled his 18inch chrome rims down to Devon that Mangina was truly aborted unto this earth. So it was to be that F.T.D and the man that would be D-reggz clashed over a spilt JD whilst super partying in downtown Exeter's notorious club bangers hotspot. Their vocal sparring attracted a large crowd of rude boys and nasty girls, and it became apparent that the two should join forces in a hip-hop bid to bring peace and partying to the universe. Enlisting such musical mercenaries as half rat, half butt monkey, GM crossbreed code named the SexKiller, on guitar, and antique dealer, cheesy wotsit DJ Lovejoy, they took their first unsteady steps into the Devonshire music scene. Receptions were warm, but SexKiller decided his feedback ridden, hard guitars had no place in Mangina's sound and so withdrew. If that departure wasn't bad enough… it was on a dull July afternoon that DJ Lovejoy was to be gunned down coming out of Poundland in Exeter High Street. F.T.D and D-reggz's lives were turned upside down, vowing to get revenge for their DJ's death they entered into a bitter turf war, which saw the death of a lot of the Devonshire rap scene's leading contempories. It was during these trying times that what remained of Mangina completed their first LP ironically entitled 'God Is Love'. A small-scale underground hit, it was released through the long-suffering, terminally bankrupt Borehamwood label 'Stomach Pop'. The cut and paste album landed them higher profile gigs as D-reggz and F.T.D experimented with different DJs, including she-beast G.I.M.P, DJ Shite, and even unleashing a vile, sexist, breakout Pokemon named Cuntomon on the stage. Cuntomon was later destroyed after attacking F.T.D during a show. The beast was only quashed when F.T.D used a Half Nelson followed by a Body Slam. Fate walked into the Angel pub on Queen Street one night. His name was Daniel-Ray Reflecting and he was to be the missing piece of the puzzle. The trio bonded over a round of drinks and the random killing of a local teenage run-away. More gigging followed. F.T.D relocated to London and started hanging with Death Metal acts such as Ackercoke and Tedmaul. And, it was with Ackercoke's Keys-man, Reeves, that F.T.D put together what would be a manthology of what he had been dreaming of since his days in Watford. The album 'Ginacology' featured guest spots from such luminaires as DJ Iceberg, fanatical muslim cleric Abu Hamzah and gay boy superstar Q-note. The album, mastered in Cameden, was a cult success. Released again through 'Stomach Pop', it saw the boys getting praise from all sorts of scenesters. Where from here? Time will only tell. This morning D-reggz discovered he was to be father to Siamese twins. Daniel-Ray Reflecting discovered he is heir to the throne of a North African tribe known only as the Ubu men. And, F.T.D has been drafted into the U.S Marines and sent deep down the river as far as Cambodia…For more updates watch this space.
